Ride for Belarus Solidarity

Stand with Belarus. Ride for Freedom.

5 Years Since the People’s Uprising Against the Dictatorship and Stolen Election

On August 9, 2020, the people of Belarus rose up in a peaceful protest to reclaim their right to choose their future. They were met not with dialogue, but with lies, violence, and mass repression.

On the fifth anniversary, join a symbolic bike ride wherever you are to support those still fighting for freedom in Belarus.

Why a Bike Rally?

In 2020, bicycles became more than transportation in Belarus they became a symbol of peaceful defiance.

Riding a bike through the streets was enough to be arrested, beaten, or imprisoned.

Today, we ride again — to show that peaceful resistance still moves forward.

Solidarity actions for Belarus are essential to support those fighting for freedom and human rights. This bike ride combines our passion for cycling with practical solidarity, raising awareness and keeping the spotlight on Belarus’s ongoing struggle.

The White-Red-White colors: A Symbol of Dignity

  • 🕊 First worn as armbands by Belarusian soldiers during WWI to express national identity
  • ✊ Adopted by the Belarusian Democratic Republic in 1918
  • 🔄 Restored in 1991 — then banned again in 1996
  • In 2020, the flag returned — carried by millions, worn with pride.
Since 2020 and up to now, you can go to prison simply for wearing these colors in Belarus

What Happened on August 9, 2020?

  • Over 1 million people took to the streets
  • More than 45,000 arrested and imprisoned — a post-WWII European record
  • About 500,000 forced into exile
  • Today, around 1300 political prisoners remain behind bars
  • More than 25 people were killed by the Lukashenko regime.
