Appeal Sent to OLAF Requesting Audit into Use of Over €200 Million in EU Aid

An official appeal has been submitted to the European Anti-Fraud Office (OLAF), requesting the initiation of an investigation and a comprehensive financial audit regarding the distribution of European aid. The document points to potential instances of fraud, misuse, and misappropriation of more than €200 million allocated by the European Union since 2020 to support democratic initiatives and civil society of Belarus through a network of organizations registered in Lithuania and other countries.

OLAF has been urged to verify the efficiency of the fund utilization, as well as to investigate potential conflicts of interest and the creation of "shell companies" that were liquidated immediately after securing the grants. Based on data from the Center of Registers of Lithuania for the period of 2020–2025, a list of 35 primary recipients of funds, who cumulatively received over €100 million, was attached to the document.

Copies of this appeal were also forwarded to the President of Lithuania Gitanas Nausėda, High Representative of the EU Kaja Kallas, European Commissioner Marta Kos, and members of the European Parliament.
